I chose this book because I'm from Dallas and it is always fun to read about places and things one knows about. Olivia, a retired teacher finds herself drawn into intrigue and conspiracy while travelling to Dallas to investigate the Kennedy assassination. Curiosity turns to an unsuspected adventure and love. A love story and more is what you get when you read this book. It is well written and the plot is unpredictable. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and applaud Elizabeth Horton-Newton for a job well done!

Elizabeth Horton-Newton has re-imagined history to create an interesting plot in which a widowed woman becomes involved with her mysterious neighbor. A love triangle, of sorts, ensues between the main character, the neighbor, and the memory of her deceased husband. The catalyst for the plot is Livvy's obsession to visit The Texas School Book Depository in Dallas. Her neighbor Bill reluctantly agrees to accompany her on the road trip. By the time they reach their destination, the two have shared secrets and romance.

The story is somewhat slow in the beginning but picks up about halfway through. I had a hard time putting it down in anticipation of what would happen next. The characters are well-developed and the mystery offers some intriguing developments. Some punctuation errors were noticeable but did not distract from the overall story.

If you are looking for information about JFK conspiracy theories, this book is not likely for you. However, if you want a story of pure fiction that explores the events of that period in history with a thought-provoking "what if" scenario, you will find this a refreshing story with interesting ideas and characters.

This review is from: View From the Sixth Floor: An Oswald Tale (Kindle Edition)
At first I wasn't sure I'd be interested in rehashing anything about Lee Harvey Oswald. By the time I realized that the 'nice guy next door' was actually Oswald, I'd already started liking him and hoping he and his neighbor would become lovers. The story was woven so cleverly that it became more of a love story than just a review of what happened in Dallas on Nov 22, 1963. The characters were convincing to the point where I was believing in them and wishing that this is actually how the story played out rather than the cold hard facts as we knew them. For the sceptic I am, I was thoroughly pleased with this easy going rendition of the events in history that changed the world. I believe View From the Sixth Floor would be a truly entertaining read for anyone and highly recommend it.
